Norman Jay Bodford

Granite Falls, NC- Mr. Norman Jay Bodford, age 62, of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born September 23, 1948 in Mitchell County, Norman was a son of Sarah Painter Bodford and the late Bernie Jay Bodford. Norman was a member of the Liberty Fellowship Church and an Army veteran. He had worked for many years as a sander in the furniture industry. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his mother, Norman is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Ronnie & Camil Bodford of Granite Falls, Billy & Emily Bodford of Lenoir, and Donnie & Doris Bodford of Lenoir; two sisters and brothers in law, Katie and Renn Smith of Lenoir, and Linda and Kelly McKinney of Pacolet, SC; two brothers and sisters in law, Ricky and Mary Bodford and Randall and Taresa Bodford all of Pacolet, SC; he is survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Norman’s life will be held 6:00 P.M.
