Norma A. Nelson

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Norma Carol Andrews Nelson, age 88, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born December 28, 1927 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Viola McRary Andrews and wife of the late Hubert Edward Nelson. Mrs. Nelson was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church and was a retired LPN with Doctors Hedrick, Hamer and Carpenter. She is survived by three sons, Ken Nelson and wife Elaine of Lenoir; Mike Nelson and wife Susan of Durham; Charles Nelson of Lenoir; two sisters, Betty Gentry of Hudson and Margaret Faw of Lincolnton. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Rob Nelson and wife Dawn of San Diego, CA; Christina Strom and husband Patrick of Durham; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Levi Strom of Durham and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Celebration of Mrs. Nelson’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00, prior to the service.
