Norma Jean Dillard

Norma Jean Dillard, 78, of Lenoir, went to her Heavenly home on Sunday March 17, 2024.

Norma was born on May 14, 1945, to the late Woodrow and Ruth Wilson.

In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Norris Nelson Dillard; brothers, Rodney Wilson, Robert E. Wilson, Glenwood Wilson, Boyd “BoBo” Wilson, and sister, Joyce Triplett.

Those left to cherish Norma’s memory are sons, Travis Dillard and wife Teresia and Bryan Dillard and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Cody, Zack, Hunter and wife Caroline, Caleb, Zoey, and Caydance; sister, Reba Barlow; brother, Freddie Wilson and wife Judy, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Norma was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She had a love for her animals especially birds and her Persian cat, Pepe (she calls him Pompei).  Norma was a member at Meadowbrook Baptist Church.  She worked at Lenoir Furniture where she made lifelong friends and enjoyed singing “You are My Sunshine” to her co-workers on their birthdays.  Norma believed in keeping family close, and having family gatherings where she loved to cook for everyone.

A service to celebrate Norma’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Lenoir at 2:00 PM with Pastor Roger Beck officiating.  The family will receive friends at Meadowbrook Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with burial following at Laytown Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Amorem Hospice in Hudson, NC.
