Evans Funeral Service December 9, 2013 Norma Cozart Lenoir - Norma Virginia Robbins Cozart of Lenoir, NC, died Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was 87. Norma was born on March 7, 1926 in Caldwell County to the late Rufus Robbins and Pearl Powell Robbins. She was the youngest of 8 children and spent a happy childhood growing up in Lenoir with her family. She married Wallace Cozart in 1946 and moved with her husband into a house right next door to her childhood home. In 1948 they welcomed a daughter, Jennifer Diane. Norma was devoted to her family and was an excellent homemaker. She also spent many years serving as a cafeteria server and manager for Happy Valley Elementary School. Norma was a lifelong member of Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church. A big part of Norma's life was being "Maw Maw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who knew her will always remember her beautiful laugh, her tenacious yet gentle spirit, her love for the Lord and devotion to her family. Her grandchildren treasure the memories of late night chats over Chinese Checkers and hold her in their hearts as the strongest woman they've ever known. Norma was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Ronda Robbins, Atwell Suddreth, and Wayne Robbins, her sisters Lorena Robbins McGinnis, Gladys Suddreth Whitener, and Verolee Robbins Greene, her husband Wallace Cozart, and her daughter Jennifer Cozart Suddreth. Norma is survived by her sister Dorothy Robbins Bounds of Powell, Tennessee, her son-in-law Sherwin Suddreth of Raleigh, NC, her grandchildren Geoffrey Suddreth and his wife Heather of Morrisville, NC; Kristen Sanservino and husband Nick of Morrisville, NC, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Nelson's Chapel Baptist Church in Lenoir, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 with Pastor Eddie Summerlin officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choosing.
