Nora Bumgarner Prestwood

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Nora Bumgarner Prestwood, age 86, of Hudson, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at her home. Born October 6, 1920 in Burke County, Mrs. Prestwood was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Church Bumgarner and the wife of the late Louie A. Prestwood. Mrs. Prestwood was a homemaker and a member of Colliers United Methodist Church where she had worked with the children?s department and taught Sunday school for many years. She was retired from Brian Center Nursing Facility in Hickory. She is survived by her two sons, Kim Prestwood and Sandy Prestwood and wife Paula all of Lenoir; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Smith of Statesville; Kyle Prestwood, Cody Prestwood and Brandy Prestwood, all of Lenoir and a special friend and caregiver, Ruth Hill. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Colliers United Methodist Church with Reverend Julie O?Neil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
