Nolan Earl Miller

Lenoir, NC- Nolan Earl Miller, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. Born in Caldwell County on October 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Earl Boyd Miller and Cora Lee Miller. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Shuffler Miller; son, Jerry Miller; brother, Bobby Miller; sister, Willa Jean Carpenter; step-sons, Mike Pritchard and Dennis Pritchard. He is survived by his sons, Reggie Miller and wife, Rhonda Shepard; Terry Miller and wife Cathy Mullen; Keith Miller and wife, Julia Miller; step-daughter, Margie Tolbert and husband, Reggie Wallace; brothers, Thomas Miller and wife, Reba; Basil Miller and wife, Karen; sisters, Mary Spicer; Margaret Evans; Frances Carpenter; brother-in-law, John Carpenter; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Miller̢۪s life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Jeff Burkimer and Pastor Edd Warren officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be TJ Miller, Robert Miller, David Evans, Reggie Wallace, Curtis Webb, and Larry Carpenter. Robert Cline II will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to Caldwell Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
