Nina Raydell Pardue

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Nina Raydell Ashley Pardue, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Wilkes County on January 18, 1925 to the late Thomas Harrison Ashley and Queenie Hanes Ashley. Mrs. Pardue was a member of Miller̢۪s Creek Baptist Church. During World War II she worked at Belk as a buyer for the men̢۪s department. She later operated a grocery store and also operated a sandwich shop for over 6 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Stewart Pardue; daughters, Doris Anne Johnson and Peggy Ruth Pardue; sisters, Lillie Mae Ashely Wayne, Hattie Geneva Ashley Dancy, and Elsie Virginia Ashley Miller; and her brother, Clifford Allen Ashley. Mrs. Pardue is survived by her grandchildren, Sabrina Cole; Joshua Alan Pardue; great-grandchildren, Abigail Nina McKiegan and Reagan Cole McKiegan; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives. A memorial service for Mrs. Pardue will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the service.
