Nicholas Curtis

Nicholas Maxwell Curtis, age 90, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.He was born February 21, 1932 in Allegany County to Jay Lemus Curtis and Eleanor Maxwell Curtis. Nick was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he attended and graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in business and minor in forestry.Nick was employed by Bernhardt Furniture Company as the Director of Purchasing from 1966 – 1999; following that he continued working as a consultant for the company up until April 4, 2022.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Barlowe Curtis and his brother, Eric Allison Curtis. He is survived by his daughter, Jana Curtis of Lenoir; a sister, Marilyn Lazorack (husband Metro) of Harrisburg, VA; his grandchildren, Savannah Curtis, Nicholas Wilson and Olivia Wilson all of Lenoir. A celebration of Nicholas’ life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the United Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM.Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
