Ned Jones Riggs

Lenoir, NC- Mr. Ned Jones Riggs, age 58, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at his home. Born April 5, 1953 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Ned Riggs and Elsie Jones Riggs. He was a member of the Central Advent Christian Church and also attended the Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Morganton. Jones had many friends and had worked as a truck driver and with the Rodeo. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, C. Horton and Etoy Jones; his Paternal Grandparents, John H. and Charlotte Riggs and two Uncles, Z.O. and Bassill Riggs. He is survived by his son, Joshua Kelly Riggs of Glen Alpine; his son’s mother, Karen Riggs of Glen Alpine; 3 half-brothers, John and Cameron Riggs, both of Rogers, Arkansas; Conard Riggs of Texas; 1 half-sister, Sabra Riggs of Pine, Arizona; 4 Aunts, Gwyn Frye, Sabra Melton, Mary Hickman and Peggy Wilson and husband Bob, all of Lenoir; two Uncles, John R. Riggs and wife Peggy of Lenoir; Bill J. Riggs and wife Lois of Granite Falls and numerous cousins. A celebration of Jones’ life will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Central Advent Christian Church with Pastor Ed Neal, Pastor Norm Sherwood and Pastor David Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30 until 4:00 PM at the church. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be Friends and Cousins.
