Neal 'Ty' Anthony Thompson

Creston, NC – Neal Anthony “Ty” Thompson, age 47, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born in Burke County on February 8, 1967 to Dwight Neal Thompson and Rayna H. Thompson. Ty was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Junior and Frankie Hicks of Elk Park, NC and paternal grandmother Coleen Thompson of Morganton, NC. In addition to his parents, Ty is survived by his daughter, Bethany Lauren Thompson and son, Tyler Landon Thompson, both of Rutherford College, NC; brother, Tim Thompson and wife, Dawn and nephew, Sawyer Thompson, all of Hickory, NC; and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Ty’s life will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Sam Craven officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 prior to the service.
