Lenoir, NC ? Mrs. Rachel Naomi Hawkins Beane, 66, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, June 07, 2010 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Born in Wilkes County on February 17, 1944, Naomi was a daughter of the late Ben and Hettie Sanders Hawkins. Naomi was a faithful member of the Hibriten Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing hymns in the choir. She was self employed with her in home day care center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Darrell Beane; and three brothers-in-law. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jessica Beane of Hudson; a grandson, Houston Beane of Hudson; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Grady and Linda Hawkins, and Ross and Margie Hawkins, both from Lenoir, Hurley and Betty Hawkins of Hudson, and Perry and Virginia Hawkins of Hickory; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet Hawkins, Zelma Coffey, and Novella and Jerry Benfield and Dean Annas all of Lenoir, Eloise Bolick of Connelly Springs, and Vernice and Jim Whisnant of Rutherford College; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Naomi?s life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 2 P.M. at the Hibriten Baptist Church, with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for Mrs. Beane will be Jeff Hodge, Westlee Hodge, Charles ?Bud? McLean, Jack South, Tyler Soots and Janson Rosenberger. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, June 10, 2010, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
