Nancy P. Hines

January 18, 1924 — July 21, 2009

Nancy Elizabeth Putnam Hines, 85 of Lenoir, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her home.  She was born on January 18, 1924 in Cleveland County to the late George Thompson Putnam and Sarah Evelyn Hamrick Putnam. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for 68 Years, where she taught Children?s Sunday School Class for 50 years, taught G.A.?s and was Women?s Missionary Union Director for 25 years.  She used her God given talents to help those who were in need, her family, her community and her church. Nancy was retired from Hines Music Company that she and her husband Melvin ran for 30 years in downtown Lenoir.  She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Hutchins Hines; her son, Johnny Melvin Hines; her brothers, Jewell Putnam, Lee Norris Putnam and Sherrill Putnam; one sister, Janelle Pennell Putnam.  Surviving is one daughter, Marlene Hines Alexander of Lenoir; two grandchildren, Shawn Alexander of Granite Falls and Danette Alexander Keener of Lenoir; two great grandchildren, Nancy Brianna Keener and Austin ?A.J. ?Jarret Keener, both of Lenoir.  Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 1:30 P.M at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. John Jernigan and Dr. Rick Crouse officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:30 PM prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St. Lenoir, N. C. 28645, or Central Baptist Church, 1416 Norwood St. Lenoir, N.
