Nadine Edwards Colvard

Hudson, NC- Mrs. Nadine Edwards Colvard, age 90, of Hudson, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her home. Born August 24, 1920 in Burke County, Nadine was a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Luda McLemore Edwards and the wife of the late Harold Mason Colvard.  Nadine had worked at Shuford Mills for 26 years. She then worked at the Lenoir McDonalds until she was 86 years old. She was a member of the Center Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, sisters, and a grandson, Ronnie Edwards Colvard, II. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Ronnie Edwards Colvard and his wife, Melanie, of Granite Falls; two grandchildren, Matthew Mason Colvard, wife Esra, of 29 Palm, CA, and Hannah Nadine Colvard of Granite Falls; a great grandchild, Ilayda Nil Colvard of 29 Palm, CA; two sisters in law, Wilma Triplett of Granite Falls, and Edith Colvard of San Antonio, TX; a special niece, Pearl May of Hickory, her caregivers, Carolyn Lawing and ReVonda Ferreira; she is also survived by numerous other relatives and many good friends A celebration of Nadine’s life will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011  at 3:00 PM at the Center Grove Baptist Church with Preacher Doug Howell and Preacher Van Proffitt officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neal Triplett, Monty Hall, Paul Hawkins, Mark Phillips, Jamie Phillips and Matthew Phillips. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
