Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Wilma Mozelle Holden Minton, age 84, of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at her home. Born December 27, 1927 in the Whitnel Community of Caldwell County, Mrs. Minton was a daughter of the late Thomas Avery and Grace Triplette Holden and the wife of the late Herbert Minton. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Holden and sister, Opal Austin. Mrs. Minton worked for 22 years for American Efrird Mills and 37 years with Broyhill Industries. Now, Asleep in Jesus, Mrs. Minton was a charter member of the Church of God of Resurrection Hope where she was a member of the Grace Holden Circle, named for her mother. She was a loving mother and always loved flowers and working in her yard which always reflected her love for God and Family. Surviving is her son, Jimmy Ray Minton and wife Elaine of Perrin, TX; two daughters, Evelyn Minton Church and husband Dave of Lenoir and Elaine “Punki†Phillips and husband Dewey of Hudson; 8 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Minton’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Church of God of Resurrection Hope with Pastor Dennis Baldwin and Pastor James Ritch officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Russell Smith, Jason Phillips, David Phillips, John Smith, Paul Childers and Ryan Greene. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tyler Smith, Dawson Phillips, Ralph Austin and Donald Austin.
