Lenoir, NC- Reverend Moses McLean, age 71, of 2941 Huffman Road, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Reverend McLean was born March 27, 1939 in Rowland, NC to the late Fred and Bertha Baker McLean. Reverend McLean was the pastor of Bethel Tabernacle in Lenoir for 10 years. He did evangelism in numerous churches in Lenoir and surrounding areas. He was retired from Broyhill Industries after 30 years of services. He was a strong pillar in his home and community. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Jr., Oscar, and Paul McLean and two sisters, Ruby Mae McLean and Bertha McLean. Reverend McLean is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Clara Anderson McLean; his son, John Moses McLean; his daughter, Gracie Donetha Cunningham and fiancé Tyre Kuykendall; three grandsons, Elijah, Joseph and Justice Cunningham of Lenoir; one step-grandson, Orion Kuykendall one sister, Lula McCallum of Rowland; seven nephews and four nieces of Rowland and one Aunt, Vanilla McLean of Dillon, SC. A celebration of Reverend McLean?s life will be held 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Terry Hunt officiating.
