Mitchell Grant Smith

Lenoir, NC- Mitchell Grant Smith, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice. He was born in Caldwell County on March 20, 1927 to the late Edward Smith and Florence Hagaman Smith. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin Smith, Harold Smith, Edward Smith, Jr. and Johnny Smith; and his sisters, Katy Smith, Mildred Robbins, and Ollie Smith. Mitch is survived by his children, Sandra Smith Libera, Grant Smith, Keith Smith and wife, Karen; half-brothers, Wayne Smith, William Smith, and Warren Smith; half-sister, Laura Parton; grandchildren, Mitchell Libera; Steven Libera; and Jason Libera; and great-grandchildren, Dawson Libera and Katie Libera. A graveside service for Mitch will be held at Harper̢۪s Chapel Cemetery on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Spann officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Libera, Joe Smith, Mike Moffett, Tom Austin, and Gerald Brittain.
