Minnie Marley Hudson, NC – Mrs. Minnie Lue Blackburn Marley, age 70, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Valdese Hospital. She was born in Wilkes County on December 31, 1941 to the late Percy Blackburn and Velma Clonch Blackburn. She was married to James Ray Marley for 52 years. Mrs. Marley was a member of Worship Point Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Marley, infant sister, and son-in-law, Wayne Weaver. Other than her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Weaver; son, Bill Marley and wife, Connie; daughter, Mary Teague and husband, Ray; brothers, Charlie Blackburn, Vernon Blackburn, and Albert Blackburn; 6 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; 1 soon to be great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Marley’s life will be held at Worship Point Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 2:00 with Pastor Lane Hamby and Pastor Floyd Perry officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00 until 7:30.
