Mildred Hodge

Mildred Barnette Hodge 83 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Mildred was born on April 2, 1942 in Caldwell County. She was a devoted wife and mother and was of the Baptist faith. Before retirement, she worked in furniture and later in retail. Mildred’s goal in life was to make sure her family was happy and well fed! You could always count on a hot meal at her house and everyone was welcome! She was a loving mother and nanny to many family members and friends throughout the years.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 60 years, Dickie Hodge, daughters

Donna Whittington, Lisa Campbell (husband Freddie), Angie Ford (husband Lyle) and Jennifer Hodge, niece Crystal Thomas and daughter in-law Nancy Eastridge. Mildred was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mildred is preceded in death by her two sons, Stanley Hodge and Ricky Hodge and her mother Ethel Davenport and brother Lee Barnette.

Evans Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family. A graveside service celebrating Mildred’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Friday, Apr 18, 2025 @ 11:00 A.M.
