Mr. Michael Wade Oxford, age 71, of Hudson, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the Amorem (Formerly Caldwell Hospice of Hudson). Born March 1, 1950 in Caldwell County, Michael was a son of the late Wade and Sylvia Cannon Oxford.Michael was an active member of Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church.He served many years as a Sunday School teacher, a deacon and served on numerous committees.He was the owner and operator of the Oxford Insurance Company.Michael served our country in the United States Army for two years.One of the things he enjoyed most was spending time riding his tractor.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nicole Simonson; a grandson, Luke Stamper; a brother, Paul Oxford; a sister, Patricia West. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Greer Oxford; a daughter, Sandra Seehorn (husband Farrow); son-in-law, Rob Simonson; a brother, Allen Oxford; a sister, Brenda Triplett; his granddaughter Anna Cannon, Jenna Stamper; he is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Nicky Waters and Pastor Mark Dula officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Amorem Hospice at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC28645. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.evansfuneralservice.com.
