Michael Scott Carswell

Mr. Michael Scott Carswell, age 55, of Granite Falls, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born March 21, 1961 in Caldwell County, Michael was the son of Billy Lawrence and Mary Jennings Carswell. Michael owned his own landscaping business and was also the pastor of Lenoir for Christ Assembly of God. He previously served as an Associate Pastor at the Huntington Hills Church of God. He served as Pastor of Higher Ground Church of God, Eastern Sky Church of God, and Kings Creek Church of God. He was also a former member of Gideons International. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Carswell of the Home; two daughters, Rebekah Carswell and Hannah Carswell of the Home; two brothers, Greg Carswell, wife Tonya, and Kevin Carswell, wife Shannon. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Greg Carswell officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Evans Funeral Service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
