Melinda Thompson

Granite Falls – Melinda Gail Thompson, age 52, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County on October 11, 1963 to John Thompson and Barbara Oliver Elmore. Melinda was a loving mother, grandmother “Nannie”, and companion.She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Thompson. In addition to her parents, Melinda is survived by her daughter, Frannie Thompson and Tommy Jenkins; son, Ryan Thompson; Jerry Russell, her long-time companion; sisters, Penny Thompson; Janet Payne and husband, David; brother, Eric Thompson and wife, Angel; and grandchildren, Anastyn, Carter, and Jaylan Jenkins. A celebration of Melinda’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Spann officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
