Melba Andrews

Melba Bates Andrews, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Shaire Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Andrews.

Melba retired from the Caldwell County School System as a teacher assistant, was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir and later attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Granite Falls.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Scott and husband, Mac of Asheboro and Deenie Griffin and husband, Larry of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Zach Griffin and wife Emily of Durham and their son, Isaiah; and Abbey Griffin of Grenoble, France.

A graveside celebration of Melba’s life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 172 N. Main Street, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
