Mavis Crisp Watson

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Mavis ?Nana? Crisp Watson, age 70, of Lenoir, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born December 25, 1936 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Watson was a daughter of the late Fred Venoy and Ava Lee Saunders Crisp and the wife of A.L. Watson, of the home, to whom she was married for 53 year. Mrs. Watson was a member of West Lenoir Baptist Church and operated the Mother Goose Nursery. Other than her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Renae Bumgarner and husband Ken of West Jefferson; one sister, Kathleen McLean and husband Frank of Bethlehem; 2 granddaughters, Michelle Creech and husband Eric of New Bern; Sara Bumgarner of West Jefferson; one great-grandson, Bryson Creech and one great-granddaughter, Bailey Creech, both of New Bern. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend James Lockee and Reverend Raymond Spann officiating. Pallbearers will be: Don Crisp, James Watson, Richard Watson, Larry Littlejohn, Jerry Smith and Ira Harmon. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request memorials being made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
