Mavis Sipes Mcrary

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Mavis Christine Sipes McRary, age 88, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice. She was born in Caldwell County on March 23, 1925 to the late Frank and Della Watson Sipes. She was married to the late L. Odell McRary.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Claude Sipes, Baynie Sipes, Leonard Sipes, Willard Sipes, Hubert Sipes, Doyle Sipes, and Eugene Sipes; and sister, Bessie Sipes King. Mrs. McRary is survived by her sons, Richard B. McRary and wife, Ruth of Frisco City, AL; Rodney D. McRary and wife, Kathryn of Lenoir; R. Neil McRary of Lenoir; daughter, Cathy M. Hamby and husband, Don of Hudson; grandchildren, Johnathan B. McRary and wife, Tonia of Dillard, GA; Nikol McRary of Granite Falls; Erin M. Roper and husband, Jake of Granite Falls; Justin K. McRary of Athens, TN; R. Phillip Crump of Hickory; Nicholas P. Crump of Hudson; Timothy B. Crump of Hudson; Lindsey D. McRary of Lenoir; Billy Landriault of Texas City, TX; Charles Landriault of Texas City, TX; great-grandchildren, Logan McRary, Ian McRary, Justin Reid, Jackson Roper, Nora Landriault, and Kheegan Landriault; sister, Bernice S. Correll; and special sisters-in-laws, Shirley M. Sims, and husband, Keith, Blanche M. Reid; Betsy M. McRee and husband, John; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. McRary’s life will be held at Union Baptist Church on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Myron Davis officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. McRary’s grandsons.
