Mrs. Maude Lou Youngs, age 95, of Lenoir, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. Born February 19, 1918 in Wilkes County, Maude was a daughter of the late Ralph and Susann Walsh Triplett. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. She will be remembered as a loving mother, who loved her Lord. Maude was the former owner of the Star Restaurant and enjoyed Ballroom dancing. Maude was also a doll maker and had made over 10,000 dolls.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three husbands, Claude Hamby, Kelly Suddreth, and Courtney “Dave†Youngs; two daughters, , Helen Hamby Setzer; & Genevia Suddreth a son, Kelly Eddie Suddreth; and a brother, Junior Triplett. Survivors include her son Cliff Suddreth and his wife Edie of Lenoir; three daughters, Billie Hamby Hall of Hickory, Carolyn Littlejohn of Lenoir, and May Ann Phillips, husband Douglas, of Hickory; two brothers, J.C. Triplett, wife Jolene, of Patterson, and Alvin Triplett of Hudson; she is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. A celebration of Maude’s life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Dr. Cliff Black and Reverend Keith Miller officiating. Interment will be on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina VA Cemetery in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
