Mattie Southard Chandler

Connelly Springs, NC – Mrs. Mattie Marie Chandler, age 81, of Connelly Springs, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Burke County Hospice. Born May 2, 1929 in Caldwell County, Mrs. Chandler was a daughter of the late Charlie J. and Janie Marie Barnes Southard. Mattie enjoyed reading and knitting. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale Southard and Charlie Joseph Curtis. She is survived by her daughter, Mattie Susan Bullin and husband Robert Eugene Bullin of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her granddaughter, Alicia Dionne Pearson and husband Timothy Allen Pearson of Morganton and 2 great-grandchildren, Michael Christopher Church and Kelly Austin Church. A celebration of Mrs. Chandler’s life will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Bake Garman officiating.
