Mary Elizabeth Presnell

Mrs. Mary (Lib) Elizabeth Craig Presnell, age 83, of Lenoir, went to be with her loving Lord on Monday, April 18, 2016. Born April 25, 1932 to the late Effie Rae Craig of Lenoir, Mary Lib was a graduate of Lenoir High School and Lenoir Rhyne University with a degree in Business. She served many years as executive secretary for Blowing Rock Furniture and later, Consolidated Furniture Industries of Lenoir. Upon retirement, she was licensed by the State of North Carolina for her in-home daycare where she touched many young lives. She was a charter member of Medowbrook Baptist Church where she served in numerous capacities until her failing health. She had a love for missions and a love for her church home and church family. Mary Lib was devoted to her family and adored her grand and great-grandchildren. She was the widow of the late Preston Lee Presnell of Lenoir, and survived by one daughter, Terri Presnell Hendrix and husband Tim, of Hudson; grandson, Jordan M. Hendrix and wife Nicole Poulter Hendrix, of Granite Falls; granddaughter, Lindsey L. Hendrix and fiancé, Justin Young of Hickory; great-granddaughters, Miya Faith Perry and Kennedy Saige Young of Hickory; and great-grandson, Graham Preston Hendrix of Granite Falls. She is also survived by one sister, Penny Craig Taylor of Lenoir, and one brother, David Craig and wife, Brenda, of Elkin, North Carolina. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Gateway Nursing Facility and Caldwell Hospice for the loving care shown to Ms. Mary. We are forever grateful for the support and kindness through her final hours. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church from 5:30-6:30 with a memorial service at 6:30 PM with Reverend Roger Beck and Reverend Doug Howell officiating.
