Mary Mattie Ladd Watters

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Mary Mattie Ladd Watters, age 76, of Lenoir, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born July 19, 1932 in Wilkes County, Mrs. Watters was a daughter of the late William Bynum Ladd, Sr. and the late Minnie Glass Ladd.Mrs. Watters was a member of West Lenoir Baptist Church and had retired from Bernhardt Furniture. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mr. Alvin Watters; one son, Tom Watters and wife Vicky of Hudson; 2 grandchildren, Chris Watters and wife Nichole of Lenoir; Kerrie Watters Tarwasokono and husband Nathanael of Tucson, AZ; and three precious great-grandsons, Noah, Isaiah and Graham. She is also survived by 5 sisters, Stella Parks, Erie Jennings and husband Lonnie; Juliann Johnson and husband Ernest; Blanche Minton and husband Daniel; Marie Hendren and husband Ralph; and three brothers, James Ladd and wife Helen; Dvaughn Ladd and Bynum Ladd.A celebration of Mrs. Watters’ life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 16, 2009 at West Lenoir Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Safriet and Pastor James Lockee officiating.
