Mary Loretta Heffner

Mary Loretta Heffner, age 87 of Lenoir passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2019.She was born April 8, 1932 in Avery County to the late Alonzo Cloyd and Nevada Hodges Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Heffner; nine brothers, William Enzor Greene, Wiley Greene, Osteen Greene, Burlin Greene, Mack Greene, Coy Greene, O.D. Greene, Herman Greene, and infant brother Gerald Greene; and one infant sister, Reba Mae Greene. Mrs. Heffner was a kind, quiet, and humble soul.She dedicated her life to being a homemaker, avid sewer, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer Ann Taylor of Lenoir, Susan Heffner of Lenoir and Stacey Heffner Abboud of Wake Forest; three grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Simms of Lenoir, Justin Taylor of Lenoir and Zachariah Abboud of Wake Forest and two great grandchildren, Reagan Taylor and John Jennings Simms.Mrs. Heffner is also survived by many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Evans Funeral Service Chapel conducted by Reverend Jim Lee.The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
