Mary Frazier

Mrs. Mary Sigman Frazier, age 72, of Lenoir passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Shaire Center in Lenoir. Born January 3, 1947 in Catawba county, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Mary Moose Sigman. Mary was retired and spent 30 plus years in the Caldwell County School System as a reading teacher.Mary also enjoyed baking bread and helping Habitat for Humanity.Her first love was the outdoors.She loved gardening and being outside. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Sigman; and a brother, Martin Sigman. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Frazier; two sons, Eric Frazier of Lenoir and Andrew Frazier (wife Jenna) from Chevy Chase, MD; her grandchildren, Ethan Frazier, John Frazier and Henry Frazier; sister, Willie Pearl Yount (husband Paul); step sister, Cathy Banner (husband Randy); step brother, Les Sigman; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Dan Duke officiating.Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery in Claremont. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church at 1406 Harper Ave., Lenoir, NC 28645 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
