Lenoir, NC- Mary Louise Fox Curtis, age 85, of Lenoir, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home. Born May 1, 1924 in Lenoir, Mrs. Curtis was a daughter of the late John Bunyon and Lola Mae Tolbert Fox and the wife of Reverend Robert Ralph Curtis of the home to whom she had been married for 69 years. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Valmead Body of Christ Ministry and had retired from nursing from Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Fox, Arlee Fox and Charlie Fox; one sister, Essie Fox Groves; one grandson, Christopher Curtis and one granddaughter, Tammy Kinyoun. Other than her husband, she is survived by 7 sons, Bobby Curtis and wife Peggy of Chardon, Ohio; Johnny Curtis and wife Joyce of Granite Falls; Richard Curtis and wife Teresa of Warsaw, Kentucky; Tony Curtis and wife Debbie of Granite Falls; Danny Curtis and wife Laura of Houston, Texas; Kevin Curtis and wife Annette of Thompson, Ohio; Paul Curtis and wife Joyce of Bethlehem, NC; 4 daughters; Mary Ann Absher of Lenoir; Linda Durham and husband Hayden of Roaring River, NC; Sarah Abargel and husband Abraham of Lenoir; Brenda Couch of Boone, NC; 27 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Curtis? life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Valmead Body of Christ Ministry with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 1:00 until 2:00, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Curtis? grandsons.
