Mary Frances Craig

Lenoir – Mrs. Mary Frances Campbell Craig, age 82, of Lenoir, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.Born August 29, 1932 in Lenoir, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lee and Mary Blanche Matheson Campbell. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Lee Campbell. Mrs. Craig was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and a retired seamstress with Sherrill Furniture. She is survived by her husband, Guy Melvin “Barney” Craig to whom she had been married for 56 years; three sisters, Juanita Watson and husband Jake; Shirley Phillips and late husband Paul; Jeanette Turner and husband Johnny; one brother, Benny Campbell, all of Lenoir; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Craig of Granite Falls and several nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Teresa Thomas. A celebration of Mrs. Craig’s life will be held 4:30 Sunday, March 8, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Nick Wilson officiating.Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 3:30 until 4:30 prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
