Mary White Broach

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Mary Lee White Broach, age 88, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. Born October 7, 1920 in Blowing Rock, Mrs. Broach was a daughter of the late Joseph Newton and Cenia Matilda Gragg White and the wife of the late W.J. “Bill” Broach.Mrs. Broach was a homemaker and a member of Lower Creek Baptist Church.  Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Carolyn Kaye Broach and Charles Alan Broach; one brother, Bill White and 6 sisters, Edith Watts, Ruby Wheeler, Kathryn Burton, Dorothy Icenhour, Ruth Lee and Pauline Ryznar. She is survived by her son, J. Michael Broach and wife Anita of Hudson; her daughter, Lynn Laws and husband Jerrell of Hudson; 4 grandchildren, Scot Laws of Charlotte, Mark Laws of Lenoir, Jamie Broach of Morganton, Allison Broach Brown of Hickory and 6 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Broach’s life will be held 3:00 PM Friday, April 10, 2009 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Todd Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at Evans Funeral Service.
