Mary L. Austin

Hudson –Mary LaFleur Austin, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at her residence after an extended illness.She was born in Caldwell County on December 14, 1938 to the late John Wesley Austin and Bonnie Bumgarner Austin. She was married to Bill Austin of the residence for 59 years. Mary was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Hudson where she served in many different capacities over the years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Other than her husband, Mary is survived by her sons, William Wesley Austin and wife, Carree; Mark Emory Austin and Eric Gene Austin and wife, April, all of Hudson; grandsons, Wesley Adam Austin and Benjamin Japen Austin and her twin sister, Martha Austin Clark. The family would like to express their heart felt appreciation to Lori Sutton for the care she provided Mary. A graveside service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Riley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family respectfully requests that face masks and social distancing be observed.
