Mary Anderson

Lenoir, NC – Mrs. Mary Frances Whisnant Anderson, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Caldwell County on October 3, 1946 to the late Bonson Whisnant and Frances Shehan Whisnant. Mrs. Anderson was married to Verlon Anderson, Jr. of the residence for 46 years. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Lenoir Seventh Day Adventist Church and worked for more than 30 years at Bernhardt Furniture Industries. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Terecia Anderson and 10 brothers and sisters. In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Cristy Abel and husband Michael; grandchildren, Brittany Oxford, Lindsay, Drew, and Leah Abel; and sisters, Christine Wheatley and Hazel Hazelton. A celebration of Mrs. Anderson’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Eric Hagan officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5:30 until 7:00 PM.
