Mary Magalea Allen

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Mary Magalea Allen, age 89, died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Born April 1, 1917 in Ashe County, Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Caleb Ennis Osborne and the late Matilda Roark Osborne Brown and the wife of the late Tway Edward Allen. Mrs. Allen was a member of Setzer?s Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn A. Handy of Lenoir; one son, Ernol ?Ernie? L. Allen and wife Regina of Lenoir; four sisters, Arlena Wyke of Hickory; Clara Miller and husband Harold; Helen Miller and Zelma Miller and husband R.C. all of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Rhonda Mitchell of Morganton; Ryan Allen and wife Sarah of Lenoir; and 4 great-grandchildren, Sabrina Handy, Tyler Allen and Trevor Allen all of Lenoir, and Anthony Frasca of Morganton. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Dean Allen and Robert Allen; two sisters, Berta Roark and Beulah Carson, and two brothers, Ottis and Bruce Osborne. A celebration of Mrs. Allen?s life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Setzer?s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Herbert McCoy and Reverend Charles Keever officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM, prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Ernie and Regina Allen, 3472 Tranquil Hills Drive, Lenoir.
