Martha Clark

Martha Austin Clark, 82 of Hudson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, at Amorem Hospice in Hudson. Martha was born on December 14th, 1938, in Caldwell County to John Wesley Austin and Bonnie Bumgarner Austin. She was a longstanding member and Sunday school teacher at Friendship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, James P. Clark, her four brothers, John Cletus Austin, Cecil “Red” Austin, Emory “Rock” Austin and Doyle “DF” Austin. Her sister, Lena Faye Townsend and her twin sister, Mary Lafluer Austin. Those left to cherish her memory are her many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Hudson on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00 pm. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and most sincere appreciation to Lori Sutton and Ashley Sutton for their love and dedicated work as her caregivers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Martha’s honor to The Duke University and The University of North Carolina Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
