Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Marshleen Billings, age 75, of Lenoir, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 31, 2007 at her home. Born April 1, 1932 in Wilkes County, Mrs. Billings was a daughter of the late Glen Dewess and Annie Lue Cox Hamby and the wife of Marvin Billings of the home. She was a homemaker and a member of Mariah?s Chapel. Other than her husband, she is survived by 5 sons; Leonard Hamby and wife Margaret of Ferguson; Larry Hamby and wife Ruth of Boomer; Dennis Hamby and wife Judy of Ferguson; Sammy Billings and wife Ethel of North Wilkesboro; Chris Billings of Lenoir; 2 sisters, Barbara Bowlin of Lenoir; Judy Kilby Barlowe and husband David of North Wilkesboro; 3 brothers, Doug Hamby and wife Barbara of Ferguson; Gwynn Hamby of Lenoir; R.G. Hamby of Ferguson 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Wayne and Paul Hamby. A celebration of Mrs. Billings? life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service of Lenoir with Reverend Mark Revel officiating. Burial will follow in Mariah?s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Thursday from 1 until 2 PM, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons of Mrs. Billings.
