Mark Smith

Mark A. Smith, age 61, of Lenoir NC went to be with his Lord and Savior November 27, 2024, at his home after a long courageous battle of 13 years with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Mark was born February 16, 1963 to Luther M. Smith and the late Maxine W. Smith of Lenoir, NC. He leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Tracy K. Smith, and their two children, Noah H. Smith and Kalee G. Smith; beloved dog Roxy and grandpup Nellie Bean.

Also surviving is his sister Robin S. Hamby and husband Jimmy of Lenoir, NC; his mother-in-law Watha H. Kendrick and the late Sherrill V. Kendrick of Granite Falls, NC; brother-in-law Greg A. Kendrick of Granite Falls, NC; brother-in-law Gary L. Kendrick and wife Sheryl of Tumwater, WA. Nephews include, Jeremiah Hamby (Mariah), Josh Hamby (Olivia), Anthony Kendrick, Cody Kendrick (Amie), and Dennis Kendrick. Honorary family Bill and Becky Henderson and their son David.

Mark was an amazing husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family, working outside, and had a love of cars. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Mark was the owner of W & S Frame Co., Inc. where he got to practice his talent for wood working and creating. He was known for building the Vacation Bible School displays at Union Grove Baptist Church. He also enjoyed working with his church’s RA group as well as serving on the graveyard and building and grounds committees.

Mark’s dedication to others continues in his choice to donate his body to science. Per his request, a grave side service will be held after the holidays at Union Grove Baptist Church. The date will be given at a later time, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Mark will be missed by so many.
