Marie Watson Winkler

Henrietta Marie Watson Winkler, 92, of Lenoir passed away peacefully Monday April 19, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Assisted Living where she had made her home since the death of her husband Douglas Summers Winkler October 30, 2016. Marie was born Dec 2, 1928 in Lenoir, NC to her biological mother Lela Winonia Watson Price (Lens Price) who preceded her in death.She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, who adopted & raised her, Roman Marshall and Mary Jane Church Watson. Marie worked for many years at Nitso Sewing Factory in Patterson, NC; but was mostly known as the "Avon Lady". She was an Avon representative for more than 30 years receiving many awards. After Doug retired he helped her with this thriving business. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Douglas Summers Winkler; they married Oct 25, 1947;her two brothers Albert Price and Raymond Sylvester (Vester) Price, and her sister Louise Price Robbins. Surviving Marie is her son, Robert D Winkler and wife Susie of Woodstock, GA; her daughter and caregiver Carolyn JWinkler (companion Bill Johnson) of Lenoir, NC; one grandson Rob Winkler and wife Kim,and threegreat grandchildren Amber Winkler Lowe (Michael); Samuel Winkler and Brianna Winkler all of Lenoir, NCand two great greatgranddaughters Paisley Summer Lowe and Bailey Renee Lowe and several nieces and nephews. At the time of her death Marie had 5 living generations. Marie was a dedicated member of Yadkin Baptist Church since 1952. Graveside and inurnment services will be conducted by Pastor Robert Livingston and Pastor Stuart White at Yadkin Baptist Church Patterson NC. Cemetery , May 5, 2021 3:00PM.
