Margie Reid

Mrs. Margie Helton Reid, age 82, of Hudson, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Grandview Villa Assisted Living in Lenoir. Born January 11, 1935 in Burke County, Margie was the daughter of the late Dewey and Vada Helton. She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching children’s Sunday school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Reid. She is survived by her brother, Boyd Helton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Margie’s life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Officiating will be Pastor Ed Warren. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
