Margie Carswell

Lenoir- Margie Johnson Carswell, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Lenoir Healthcare. She was born in Caldwell County on May 10, 1933 to the late John and Gurtie Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Carswell, four brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Carswell is survived by her daughter, Barbara Carswell Pennell and husband, Mickey; son, Eddie Carswell and wife, Robin; grandchildren, Jason Pennell and wife, Brandi; Jarad Pennell and fiancée, Brooklyn Hood; Kaylin Safriet and husband, Jason; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

A graveside service celebrating Mrs. Carswell’s life will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Rick Safriet and Pastor Hoss Moore officiating.
