Margaret Chester Robbins

Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Chester Robbins, 87, of Lenoir, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. She was born in Caldwell County to the late Horace W. and Georgia Smith Chester. In Addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Hughes Robbins. Margaret enjoyed many hobbies including crafts and collecting antiques. She was known by many friends and acquaintances as “Miss Margaret”. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Roberts, of Lenoir and numerous cousins. Also surviving are her “adopted son”, Berl Childers and wife April of Youngsville, NC; childhood friend, Precyous Smith of Wilkesboro and special caregivers, Brittany McRary, Crystal Dula and Johnna Creech. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Grandview Park Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Spann officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 PM, one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Pamela Roberts at 401 Sharon Avenue, NW in Lenoir. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 or to Grandview Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 2539 Grandview Circle, Lenoir, NC 28645.
