Margaret Kirby Johnson

Margaret passed away on Oct. 22 ^nd , 2022 at UNC Healthcare.  Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Kirby Goble (Roger) and Geneva Kirby Hart (John Felix).  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Dinah, David, & Dionne, and John & Kim; 8 great-grand-children: Amanda, Bailey, Luke, Macie, Philip, Daphne, Jennifer, & Elizabeth. 7 great-great-grandchildren: Hunter, Mallory, Emery, Zoe Grace, Grayson, Naomi, & Amara. She also had 23 nieces and nephews.

Margaret was the last of 13 children born to Charlie and Alice Taylor. Siblings were Minnie T. Thompson, Blanche Taylor, Henry Taylor, Mary T. May, Maude T. Smith, Harvey Taylor, Belle T. Carlton, Clyde Taylor, Edna T. Angley, Don Taylor, Charles (Jack) Taylor, Winifred T. Porter.

Margaret was known for her love of children and for helping others. She worked at Kings Creek School for about 40 years. She was also a volunteer at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for 28 years.  She was willing to help anyone that needed her.

Margaret was a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church where she was a member since 1948. She enjoyed going to the senior lunches at the church. It’s been hard for her the past year or so to participate with other seniors at church.  She will truly be missed by all who knew her.  She’s with the Lord now and was ready to go to heaven. A private service will be held at a later date.
