Margaret Trexler Holman

Margaret Holman Lenoir, NC- Margaret Trexler Holman, 92, passed away on January 23, 2014 at Camelot Manor Nursing Facility in Granite Falls, NC. Margaret was born on June 19, 1921 in Watauga County to the late John Luther Trexler and Minnie Eldredge Trexler. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, James Vernon Blevins; her second husband, Gene Holman, four brothers; Richard Trexler, Thomas Trexler, John Trexler and Charles Trexler, and two sisters, Ruth Hollars and infant Shelby Jean Trexler. Margaret was an avid flower gardener and was especially fond of Iris and Day Lillies. She was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, NC. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jim Blevins and wife Pam of Granite Falls; two daughters, Linda Walsh and husband Jerry of Morganton; and Nancy Pope and husband Larry of Boomer, NC; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Moss of Hudson; Dawn Whisnant of Drexel; Wesley Pope and wife Amy of Boomer; four great-grandchildren McKenna Moss, Kailey Pope, Keegan Clarke and Easton Ross; one brother, Earl Trexler and wife Nancy of Blowing Rock; two sisters, Elizabeth DuBose of Seale, AL; and Lucille Young of Blowing Rock. The family will receive friends at Philadelphia Lutheran Church on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2:00 until 3:00. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Reverend Terrell Long and Reverend Leonard Bolick officiating. Burial will follow the service at Littlejohn Methodist Church Cemetery, located on the Littlejohn Church Road.
