Margaret Hartley

Margaret Hartley Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Margaret Magdalene Laxton Hartley, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Blowing Rock Extended Care. She was born in Caldwell County on September 23, 1925 to the late Homer Laxton and Ola Pennell Laxton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Sue Clement and her sisters, Betty Sue Laxton and Gwendolyn Laxton Coffey. She is survived by her sons, Kyle Clement and wife, Nancy of Lenoir; Roger Clement and wife, Brenda of Statesville; Robert Clement and wife, Debbie of Lenoir; daughters, Kay Vandiver of Pffaftown and Nan Harris and husband, Marty of Lenoir; brothers, Garland Laxton and wife, Ann of Lenoir; Douglas Laxton and wife, JoAnn of Hudson; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Hartley̢۪s life will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Pastor Gurney Robbins officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service.
