Lenoir – Mrs. Margaret Swanson Dabrowski, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 8, 2016. Born May 5, 1929 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late William Russell and Lida Belle Prestwood Swanson. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Tonja Pittman, a brother, James Swanson and two sisters, Ila Bolick and Ruth Kincaid. Mrs. Dabrowski was a member of First Baptist Church of Hudson. Her family was her greatest treasure and her love of life was admired by all who knew her. She enjoyed gardening and woodcarving. Employed by Vocational Rehabilitation for over 30 years, she was the first job placement specialist in North Carolina, finding hundreds of jobs for handicapped individuals. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Teasley of Lenoir; two sisters, Merle Harris of Greenville, NC; Martha Setzer of Lenoir; two brothers, G.B. Swanson of Fishersville, VA; Furman Swanson of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Yvette Lazaro of Lenoir and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Dabrowski’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Hudson with Reverend Mack Jarvis officiating. Private entombment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Hudson Organ Fund, 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28638.
