Hudson, NC- Mrs. Margaret Queen Blevins, age 86, of Hudson, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at her home. Born May 29, 1922 in Casar, NC, Mrs. Blevins was a daughter of the late Zero and Goldie Newton Queen. Mrs. Blevins was retired cafeteria worker and school bus driver in the NC School System. She never met a stranger and was loved by her grandchildren more than anyone in the whole world. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth York; one son, Eugene Blevins; 4 sisters, Minnie Byrd, Dalzie Myers, Fannie Henderson, Betty Heizer; 3 brothers, Quince Queen, Robert Queen, Jimmy Queen and 2 grandsons, Jason Pope and John Andrew Porter. She is survived by four daughters, Betty Whitehead and husband Al of Lilburn, GA; Yvonne E. Munday of Hudson; Corinne Pope and husband Cecil of Granite Falls; Linda Blevins Teseniar of Lenoir; 6 sons, Victor Escalle of Hickory; William Blevins and wife Judy of Boca Raton, FL; Jimmy Blevins and wife Nell of Sebring, FL; Joe Blevins and wife Nellie of Granite Falls; Donald Blevins and wife Belinda of Monticello, KY; Michael Blevins of Oklahoma City, OK; 35 Grandchildren and 29 Great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mrs. Blevins? life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 in the chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Doug Woody officiating. A private graveside service will be held at an earlier time. The family will receive friends following the service.
