Marcus Hoover

Mr. Marcus Joe Hoover, age 85, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Born December 10, 1932 in Caldwell County, Marcus was a son of the late John Ray and Dottie Greene Hoover.He enjoyed woodworking in his shop.Marcus was a member of Flemmings Chapel Baptist Church, but also attended Grandview Park Baptist Church.In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Hoover; two sisters, Francis Hayes and Lil Spencer; a brother, Jimmy Hoover. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hoover, of the Home; a sister, Elouise Parsons; two brothers, Bob Hoover and Ray Hoover; two grandchildren, Angie Hodges and Jessica Woodruff; five great grandchildren, Ally Hodges, Kennedy Hodges, Bella Hodges, Addison Woodruff and Cohen Woodruff; a special caregiver, Karen Bentley; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Marcus’ life will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Grandview Park Baptist Church at 3:00 PM.Officiating will be Pastor Raymond Spann, Pastor Billy Mitchell and Pastor Steve Parker.Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
