Lenoir – Mr. Malcolm Eure Langston, age 81, of Lenoir, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir. Born January 14, 1933 in Gates County, NC, Mr. Langston was a son of the late Malcolm Edward and Ruth Edney Langston and the husband of Margaret Brennan Langston of the home. Mr. Langston was the last surviving sibling of 12.He was a retired postal carrier with the US Postal Service and a member of Concord Baptist Church.He had served as a deacon in several churches in Florida before his retirement.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an all around sportsman. Surviving other than his wife Margaret is his daughter, Ruth Langston Bailey and husband Lane of Lenoir and two grandchildren, Brennan Patrick Bailey and Kathryn Grace Bailey.He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Mr. Langston’s life will be held 5:00 PM Friday, September 12, 2014 at Concord Baptist Church with Reverend Tom McDonald and Reverend Bill Hill of Greensboro, NC officiating.A burial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Langston Family Plot of Holy Neck Cemetery in Gates County, North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM prior to the service at Concord Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
